Lesson 1.6 – The Freedom Blueprint: Vision, Boundaries, and Your Ideal Practice

“I just want out” is not a business plan.

To build a firm that actually works for you, you have to know what you’re running toward, not just what you’re running away from.

In this lesson, we’ll step into the future and define what “success” looks like for you—in your practice and in your life. We’ll clarify the clients you want, the work you want to do (and what you’re never doing again), your ideal schedule, and the income target that supports the life you’re trying to build.

Then we’ll set your non-negotiables—the lines you won’t cross as you grow. Because freedom without boundaries turns into a new kind of prison. And remember… the goal isn’t to own a firm. The goal is to own your life.

In this lesson, you’ll:

  • Complete the My Why & Practice Vision Worksheet
  • Describe your ideal clients and the core matters you want to handle
  • Define your non-negotiables around time, money, clients, and lifestyle
  • Write a short “ideal workday” narrative for your future firm

This written vision becomes your filter for everything that comes next—practice area focus, marketing, staffing, pricing, and how lean (or how big) you want your firm to become—so you build with intention instead of drifting into someone else’s version of success.
